Or maybe the Lederhosen should not be in public. Obviously a matter of personal opinion, but those opinions must be left behind when venturing to Leavenworth. It is, of course, very accepted attire in Leavenworth especially during Oktoberfest. While we didn't get all gussied up for the occasion we did head over to enjoy the last weekend of Oktoberfest, some good beer, and great people watching! The bonus rounds came into play with the clear blue sky we enjoyed and picking up some apples from Prey's Fruit Barn. (Yay! Honey Crisp apples for about $1.00/lb which is a much better deal than the grocery stores!)
But back to the good stuff. The people watching was highly entertaining. At one point we heard a glass drop onto the pavement. Everyone in the vicinity groaned in unison, then the guy who dropped the glass picked it up, remarkably it was in one piece, waved it above his head and everyone did a "woo-hoo" in unison. How does this kind of thing happen? Well, after much research and visits to various brewfests the answer is upon us. Are you ready for the ground breaking knowledge??? Beer. That is how that kind of thing happens. After enough beer, everyone seems to talk the same language, know the same signals, and...oh wait, it really is just that after enough beer everyone is drunk! :)
It really was a good time, the area was not as busy as it has been in the past, we could actually get in to a cafe for lunch within minutes and walking into, through, and out of the shops was easy! The leaves were all vibrantly colored and the sunshine was a welcome addition to the day!
