General Aviation Day

We spent most of the day on May 15th in Mukilteo. First we had lunch with Terry, Kathy, and Tim at the Mukilteo Lodge. They had a good selection of beers and the food was good too so it was a good experience at a new place with great company!!!

Then we were off to the General Aviation Day at Paine Field. Aside from not locating the seminar David had signed us up for, it was an interesting afternoon. It was beautiful outside so that was nice as we walked around to view the various planes and informational tables. David hopped up into a plane so if you want to know what he would look like as a pilot, here is your chance...
Although, if he were flying the plane, I don't think we would want him doing this...makes the passengers a little uneasy!!! We also got to step into a 1933 United Airlines plane that seated 10 passengers. Back at that time, a flight from Seattle to San Francisco cost about $125 and took all day! To get to some of the seats you had to step over support beams for the wings and there were no overhead compartments for luggage. Just some netting to store some small items such as a purse!

Some of the planes and helicopters we saw were as small as they could possibly be - I thought the smallest helicopter would make a great commuting vehicle - it wouldn't take up too much space and would be a quick trip!
