We were so fortunate to be given a great gift from some friends of a helicopter flight around the entire island of Maui. What a spectacular way to see the island and really get an idea of how everything is laid out as compared to the places we had been.We had such a good time and would recommend this adventure to anyone, especially with Blue Hawaiian!
Here is one of the pictures from our trip - David got some video of the trip and they also take video both outside and inside the helicopter that we purchased so we can relive our adventure at any time! During our trip we landed in a field to view the area below and enjoy some sparkling pineapple wine. Off we went again to circle the rest of the island and see the Road to Hana from the air.
Once we were back on our feet we hopped into the car and wound our way around some roads toward the Haleakala Crater...but we didn't go to the crater (we had just seen it from the air!), instead we went to the Tedeschi Vineyards - Maui's only winery. We were going along these crazy curvy roads, the GPS says we are already at our destination, which we were not, and our car was dangerously low on gas. About the time we thought we should turn around we see a few little driveways and signs and Voila!, there was the winery. Thank goodness! We tasted some good wine, but didn't feel like we had tried anything we absolutely couldn't live without.
Our next stop was back to the beautiful Five Palms to relive some of our wedding memories, take in the sunset, and enjoy their tasty happy hour. As you can see, it wsa another great day in paradise!!
