Stupid coral, bad wallet!

Finally...an opportunity to get into the Hawaiian waters without an oxygen tank, agenda, or anything else! We zipped into Boss Frog's to rent snorkel gear and then drove toward Lahaina to Mile Post 14 (the kiddie pool of snorkeling locations). A snorkeling we went until we realized we were in a very coral dense area and thought we should get into more open water. At that same time the adventures really began!

David realized that his wallet was still in his still in his swim trunks (bad wallet!) and while trying to figure our the next course of action my leg grazed the coral and ended up giving me quite a few icky cuts (stupid coral!). The wallet didn't fare so well but the contents seemed to survive just fine. My leg took a long time to heal up but feels much better these days, although you can still see where it happened!

After that fun time we stopped into an ABC store to get a few things to fix up my leg and then went on to our second whale watching adventure! Yes, that is right, second trip!

David was able to enjoy some Kona Longboard aboard this whale watching trip. You see, the night before, Jeff and Gin were telling us about how amazing their whale watching trip was with the small number of people onboard and how many whales they saw. We couldn't just take their word for it, we had to see for ourselves! My, oh, my - we saw whales with the Safari Boat Excursions even closer than before and so many more!!! It is hard to capture them with the camera but we did some good video of them...links to videos to come before too long!



The great Hawaiian adventure was coming to a close...Friday the 29th we had the morning to get packed up, take care of a few things and then head toward the airport. Of course I tried to convince David to turn left to Lahaina rather than continuing straight to the airport but he wouldn't go for it. :( We had a stopover at Costco to load up a suitcase with macadamia nuts...no joke...and then to the airport. So hard to leave this grand adventure of ours but also so glad that we had the opportunity to have such a wonderful wedding and honeymoon!
