Home at last! Or rather, home already? We were back on the road Monday morning after yet another great food find courtesy of yelp.com. Breakfast at Morning Glory in Ashland was wonderful. A bit of sharing of ricotta stuffed french toast and a lemon poppyseed waffle later and we were well fed and happy. We made a quick stop at Big Town Hero to pick up sandwiches to eat for lunch on the road and we were heading north once again.
The weather was mostly cooperative but there was a definite formation of clouds the further we got from sunny California. Sure enough, after about half a day of driving the rain began. Not near as bad as raining most of the way south at the beginning of vacation, but still part of the harsh reality that vacation was almost over.
We made a stop into Vancouver to see Sue, David's mom, and have dinner with her. It proved to be a nice break from the car as we took a short walk to the Thai restaurant and even though it was raining after dinner that was all right, we were still getting to stretch our legs! After a good visit and yummy Thai food we hit the road again. Shortly after 9pm we made it home and it really did feel like vacation was over as the car was unpacked and it was time to determine what would be needed to get through the night and morning and what could wait until later to be dealt with.
Our trip to wine country was fabulous. We take away from it a lot of new knowledge about wine and what we like/don't like and why and so many fun memories from our various adventures!! ~Heather
