Today was a major sleep in day - one thing about the east coast is everything seems to run late into the night. When you want to talk to people on the west coast, it's already very late. Games go deep into the night - I don't know how they get up in the morning. I didn't find out today.
My trip of the day was to the Dyckman Farmhouse museum. It is an old Dutch colonial farmhouse from the turn of the century Manhattan when it was changing from farms to a city. It was what you would expect to see in an old home - hardwood floors, wooden furniture, kitchens, etc. There was no Dutch words anywhere except in the family name. Bummer! The tour was a captivating 15 minutes.
Today we watched some more ping pong dvds to continue our pursuit of beating each other. We rejected one dvd that looked too much like a home video and watched one that is an hour long on just the forehand loop shot. It did improve our game, and scoring, as we had more fierce rallies and a higher point total than Monday. John broke out a 5-0 lead that finished up at 9-5, and the battle was great, despite the 2-0 deficit I am now facing.
Tonight we're going to hit some dessert and rest up. Tomorrow is the Guggenheim museum, Central Park, some Ciao Bela gelato and then the Avenue Q musical.
